Areas · Construction ITP at scale
Multi-level construction ITPs, structured once and signed off in packs.
HoldPoint Areas turns a construction ITP register from a flat list into a structured tree — buildings, levels, lots, stages, chainages. Apply a master ITP template across every area in seconds, then send one sign-off pack per floor or lot with a combined audit-ready PDF.
Four project shapes
Built around how construction projects actually run.
Pick the shape that matches your job. HoldPoint builds the area tree, sorts naturally, and waits for your construction ITP templates.
Multi-level
High-rise & apartment builds
Buildings with repeating floors. One pre-pour ITP runs on every level, every level has the same handover checks. Bulk-apply a master template across 20 levels and send a sign-off pack per floor.
Building A → Level 1–20 → Unit 101, 102, 103
Subdivision
Residential lots & estates
Land subdivisions where every lot repeats the same handover ITP. Structure by stage and lot, apply the lot ITP across all 40 lots, and hand back one signed pack per lot to the client.
Stage 1 → Lot 1–40 (Lot ITP applied to all)
Linear civil
Roads, rail, pipelines
Civil works where ITPs repeat by chainage. Structure subgrade, pavement, and conformance ITPs at CH 0+000, CH 0+500, CH 1+000 — naturally sorted, never re-numbered.
Pavement ITP → CH 0+000, CH 0+500, CH 1+000…
Staged
Phased works
Phased projects following a construction sequence. Bulk earthworks, subgrade, pavement — each as its own area with the right ITPs already attached when work starts.
Stage 1 — Earthworks → Stage 2 — Subgrade → Stage 3 — Pavement
From empty project to signed-off pack
How HoldPoint Areas works.
- 1
Pick a project shape
Choose multi-level, subdivision, linear civil, or staged. HoldPoint builds the area tree from a few inputs — one building with twenty levels, three stages with forty lots each, fifteen chainages every 500 metres.
- 2
Bulk-apply your construction ITP
Open Apply template to areas, pick a master ITP, and select every area it should run on. Names are pre-filled — Pre-pour — Level 1, Pre-pour — Level 2 — and you can edit before anything is written.
- 3
Field teams complete each area
Each area gets its own set of documents: ITPs, site instructions, labour dockets. Supervisors fill them in on mobile, photos attach to the checklist items, hold points block progress until they're signed.
- 4
Send one sign-off pack per area
When Level 3 is ready for the client, send the whole floor as a single email. The recipient signs once and HoldPoint generates one combined audit-ready PDF with every ITP, instruction, and docket merged together.
Bulk apply
One template across twenty areas in four clicks.
One pack per area
Single email, single signature, one combined PDF.
Hold points enforced
Work cannot proceed past a hold point until it's signed.

Common questions
Construction ITP areas, answered.
- What is a construction ITP and why does it repeat across levels or lots?
- A construction ITP (Inspection and Test Plan) defines the inspection activities, hold points, witness points, and acceptance criteria for a piece of work. On a 20-storey build the same pre-pour ITP runs on every level; on a 40-lot subdivision the same handover ITP runs on every lot. The work is the same, only the location changes — which is exactly what HoldPoint Areas is built for.
- How does HoldPoint apply one ITP template across many areas?
- From the Areas tab on a project, open Apply template to areas, choose a master ITP from your company library, and tick the areas it should run on. HoldPoint creates an editable preview — Pre-pour — Level 1, Pre-pour — Level 2, all the way through — and writes them as project-level documents in one batch when you confirm. Each one is a job-specific copy that can be edited without touching the master template.
- What is a sign-off pack?
- A sign-off pack is every document attached to one area — Level 3, Lot 17, CH 1+500 — sent to a client or principal's representative as a single email with one combined PDF. Instead of chasing twenty separate ITP signatures, the client signs once and you get a single audit-ready PDF with every ITP, site instruction, and labour docket for that area merged in order.
- Does HoldPoint stop me sending an area for sign-off if the ITPs aren't ready?
- Yes. Areas track how many of their documents are complete and ready for sign-off. The Send for sign-off action is disabled until at least one document in that area is in a sign-off-ready state, both in the UI and in the API. You can't accidentally send a half-finished pack.
- What construction project types does this fit?
- Anything where the same ITP repeats across many places — high-rise residential and commercial, apartment subdivisions, civil estates, road and rail projects with chainages, staged earthworks and pavement projects, defence works, and large fit-outs. The four built-in project shapes (multi-level, subdivision, linear civil, staged) cover most jobs; custom area trees handle the rest.
